APPEALS 1 COMMISSIONERATE
ABOUT US
After the re-organization of the Department with effect from 01.07.2017, Commissioner (Appeals-I) was formed vide Notification No.13/2017-CE (NT) dated 09.06.2017 read with Notification No.17/2017-CE(NT) dated 19.06.2017. Chennai Appeals-1 Commissionerate covers the jurisdiction of Chennai North GST Commissionerate and Puducherry GST Commissionerate. This Commissionerate handles all appeals about GST and legacy issues about Central Excise and Service Tax. The Commissioner (Appeals) handles appeals about GST, Central Excise, and Service Tax and the Additional/Joint Commissioner (Appeals) handles GST appeals only arising out of orders passed by his sub-ordinates.
