- Dr Ram Niwas, I.R.S., Principal Chief Commissioner of Central GST and Central Excise of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Zone is 1990- batch Officer of the Indian Revenue Service.He has done his MBBS from Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner(Rajasthan).He has served in Mumbai, Ranchi, Indore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad in various capacities in various formations.He has worked as Under Secretary, CBIC, Ministry of Finance.He has served in Enforcement Directorate and DGCEI.As Chief Commissioner, he has led the Customs Chennai Zone and Jamnagar Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate.He has vast experience in both Customs and Central Excise, besides working in investigation wings & in ministry.
